Overnight Newborn Care Specialists arrive in the evening (typically between 8pm-10pm) and care for your baby through the night until morning (typically 6am-8am), allowing parents to sleep uninterrupted.
All Baby Care Tasks:
1. All nighttime feedings (bottle, or bringing baby to breastfeeding parent)
2. Diaper changes and clothing changes as needed
3. Soothing and settling baby back to sleep
4. Monitoring baby's wellbeing and safety throughout the night
5. Responding to all baby needs without waking parents
Sleep Environment & Routine Development:
1. Creating optimal safe sleep environments following AAP guidelines
2. Establishing age-appropriate bedtime routines
3. Implementing evidence-based sleep support strategies
4. Gradually extending sleep intervals as developmentally appropriate
5. Tracking sleep patterns to identify emerging schedules
Feeding Support & Tracking:
1. Preparing and feeding bottles (formula or expressed milk)
2. Supporting breastfeeding mothers by bringing baby for feeds
3. Cleaning and sterilizing bottles and pump parts
4. Tracking all feeding times, amounts, and outputs
5. Recognizing feeding challenges requiring attention
Detailed Documentation:
1. Comprehensive care logs tracking feedings, diaper changes, sleep intervals
2. Notes on baby's patterns, behaviors, and any concerns
3. Communication about what worked well or needs adjustment
4. Observations about developmental milestones
Light Baby-Related Tasks:
1. Baby laundry (sleepers, swaddles, sheets)
2. Nursery organization and tidying
3. Restocking diapering station and preparing for next night
4. Sterilizing bottles and organizing feeding supplies
