A newborn care specialist, or NCS, is a trained expert at all things newborn! An NCS will guide your family through the first few precious months of your newborn’s life, ensuring that your newborn is developing healthy eating and sleeping habits, giving you much-needed rest and peace of mind, and providing optimal care to support your infant in reaching their developmental milestones. The support of an NCS will ensure your family flourishes during one of the most exciting times in your life.
Pay requirements and classifications are dependent state-by-state. In some states, newborn care specialists own their own business (usually an LLC) and have the ability to be hired as independent contractors, which some families opt to do. In other states, newborn care specialists must be hired as W-2 employees, and employers are responsible for legal pay and abiding by other local and state laws.
