How the Arrangement Works
You hire your specialist directly and establish terms with them—rates, schedule, house rules, expectations. Our placement fee covers the vetting and matching process. After placement, your communication with your specialist is direct, with no agency intermediary in your daily care

Step 2: Detailed Needs Assessment
We conduct comprehensive assessment of your baby's care needs, household setup, family routines, parent involvement preferences, and specific philosophies or approaches you prefer.
Step 3: Specialist Matching
Using our extensive network, we identify 2-3 specialists whose qualifications and experience align with your needs, providing detailed profiles, certifications, testimonials, and availability.
Step 4: Interviews & Selection
You interview matched specialists to discuss care approaches, assess personality fit, review rates and expectations, and make your final selection.
Step 5: Contract & Onboarding
Once you select your specialist, you establish a direct employment agreement with contract templates and guidance from us, align on care plans and schedules, establish emergency protocols, and confirm your start date.
Step 6: Care Begins with Ongoing Support
Your specialist begins care with home orientation, daily care logs, regular parent education sessions, and ongoing communication with The NCS Agency for any support needs.

Fee Structure
Placement Fee: One-time fee to The NCS Agency for comprehensive vetting, candidate matching, interview support, and placement guidance through successful hire.
Specialist Rates: Paid directly to your Newborn Care Specialist or Postpartum Doula. Arizona rates typically $35-55+ per hour depending on:

1. Professional certifications and experience level
2. Specialized skills (lactation training, sleep coaching, multiples care)
3. Geographic location
4. Shift length and schedule (overnight, daytime, 24/7)

Live-In Care (24/6 with backup):

1. Singleton: $5,040 - $7,920/week
2. Twins/Multiples: $6,300 - $9,240/week
3. Preemies/High-Need: $6,720 - $9,900/week

Full 24/7 ROTA Coverage (2 specialists, 12-hour shifts):
1. Singleton: $5,880 - $9,240/week
2. Twins/Multiples: $6,720 - $10,560/week
3. Preemies/High-Need: $7,560 - $11,550/week

Note: These are estimated ranges. Actual rates negotiated directly between you and your specialist. Most families engage 24/7 care for 2-8 weeks.

For 24/7 placements, earlier outreach gives you access to specialists with the strongest credentials and availability—we recommend connecting during your second trimester when possible. That said, we regularly accommodate families closer to their due date and have completed placements on short notice when circumstances required. The key is starting the conversation so we understand your needs and can identify who's available.

Specialists provide all baby care (feeding, diaper changes, bathing, soothing), sleep environment optimization, developmental activities, detailed care logs, and parent education. Specialists do NOT provide household cleaning, family cooking, sibling care, medical care or diagnosis, or pet care.

Yes! Our specialists are trained in lactation support basics and can help with positioning and latch, support pumping schedules, bring baby to you for night feeds, track feeding sessions, and recognize when additional lactation consultant support may be beneficial.

While our thorough matching process results in successful placements in the vast majority of cases, we provide mediation support to address concerns, guidance on adjusting care plans, and re-matching services if necessary.
