Postpartum Doulas support the entire family, especially maternal recovery and household adjustment. The Newborn Care Solutions Agency helps families determine which service best meets their needs during consultation.

Yes, all caregivers placed by The Newborn Care Solutions Agency undergo comprehensive background checks, reference verification, and skills assessment. We ensure they're trained in safe sleep practices, proper breastmilk handling, formula preparation, and newborn safety protocols.

Newborn Care Specialist Needed in Chicago, Illinois

This role requires prior experience working in a staffed, multi-floor home and the flexibility to occasionally stay longer or provide 24/7 coverage when parents travel. The caregiver will primarily focus on the newborn while also occasionally serving as a supportive partner to existing childcare for a 3.5-year-old.

The family values a professional who is passionate about child development and education, stays current on best practices, and communicates clearly and collaboratively.

Daytime support is sought from an experienced, patient professional willing to work a somewhat flexible schedule, with responsibilities including:

full-time childcare such as waking, bathing, dressing, diapering or assisting with toileting,
planning and engaging the child in activities that promote emotional, intellectual, and social development,
preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the child and family upon request,
overseeing and transporting the child to activities and appointments, and
assisting with the development of manners, etiquette, and social graces.
Child-related household responsibilities include laundry for the child and bedding as needed, washing bottles and pumping equipment, managing dishes from the child’s meals, emptying trash, recycling, and diaper pails, keeping the child’s room and living spaces organized, sweeping or vacuuming child-related messes, maintaining a daily journal and Baby Connect updates, communicating supply needs, restocking changing areas,
running requested errands, organizing toys and clothing including seasonal rotation and donations, and proactively managing all aspects of travel preparation for the child, including pack lists, packing and unpacking, and planning destination activities.

This is an NCS role, not a housekeeping position. The family has a full-time housekeeper, though flexibility and a willingness to assist where needed are important. The household values long-term staff, and when parents are home, the caregiver should be comfortable shifting focus to supportive tasks to allow for focused family time and stepping in as needed.

This position requires an NDA and strict adherence to no-photography and no-social-media policies regarding the family.

The details:

Client Location: Lincoln Park, IL
Schedule: Daytime hours 7:00AM-1:00PM or 1:00PM-6:00PM 5 days per week;
on occasion there may be a request for a 6th day as well as evenings during Summer and Fall Months
Due Date: Baby is currently 5 weeks old
Contract Length: 6-9 months but they are open to a NCS to Nanny transition long term
Compensation: $45-55+/hr depending on your experience and education. They are open to negotiation on rate for an exceptional candidate.
Employee / Contractor Contract: Open to W-2 or Independent Contractor paid to your legal business
Pets: 7 year old Australian Labradoodle, Henry (trained service animal and hypoallergenic)

As an NCS you are:

Responsible, Highly Knowledgeable, Caring, Discreet, High energy, safety conscious, stays up to date on age appropriate activities and best practices including all areas of development. Knowledge around and supporting safe, developmentally appropriate sleep habits is key. Can maintain a can-do, chip-in attitude and will cheerfully pitch in when needed. Must be self directed, attentive to detail, and embrace open communication. Parents expect reliability, adherence to newborn schedule & routines, and collaboration with overnight care team.
Family would prefer that the Newborn Care Specialist have a Driver's License and passport.
An essential function of the caregiver role is always keeping the baby safe.
